Tiffany DeMartin (she/her)

Welcome! I am an NCPT certified Pilates instructor, a Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor, a certified Konnector instructor, a Bodywise Connection/Training to Heal instructor (working with pre- and post-operative breast cancer patients as they prepare for, and move beyond, breast cancer surgery and treatment - @trainingtoheal), and a Heritage Training graduate (studying Kathy Grant’s work in the Pilates Method under Cara Reeser). I am also working towards my Katonah Yoga certification.

At Delicious Movement you will find: Pilates on all the apparatus, yoga, Konnector, pranayama, meditation, sometimes homemade snacks, perhaps a cup of tea, and whatever else your movement practice might need on any given day. Joe Pilates famously said, “Change happens through movement and movement heals.” Yes it does. I believe our movement practice can bring us into a deeper and more authentic relationship to ourselves. Learning who we are - how we move, our strengths and weaknesses - helps us integrate our pieces and parts in a way that feels balanced, whole, and supported. We don’t just move to be better movers, we move to have better lives.

I have been teaching for over 14 years on both the east and west coasts, and have had the great privilege to study with Joy Puleo, Cara Reeser, Leslie Powell, Viktor Uygan, Jeremy Laverdure, Nevine Michaan, Marina Traub, Ann Dyer, and lots of other wonderful master teachers. I am always in a workshop, a training, a study group - learning philosophies, modalities, choreography, anatomy, theory, and generally being geeky.

In my past life, I attended RISD undergrad (BFA Film/Video) and Columbia University graduate (Fellowship,Film/Television). I worked in theater, film, and television for way too long until doctors told me I needed back surgery for a herniated disc and an incredible Pilates teacher got me back onto my feet without surgery - and that was that. I have been studying and teaching ever since. I have shared most of my life with horses, and have several PMU rescues that are now in retirement (pictured here is Plentycoups - rescued at six months, and my beloved unicorn). We have too many cats, almost too many dogs, a cow, more chickens than we can count, and two children we adore.

I love to teach. I’m pretty sure we all have two lists running in the background of our minds: column A is “What I can do,” and column B is “What I cannot do.” The very best part of this work is watching someone realize they can move something from column B into column A. They can learn a new skill or reclaim an old one. At any age, and at any level.

Come practice with me!
